Heavy Metal

The seed for many of the projects I’ve worked on was planted long before I ever started shooting images for it, and this series is an example of that. Static military displays have always caught my eye. They seem at home in a patriot or veteran’s park, or in front of a VFW post. They are a little more jarring when they appear in a park, almost as another piece of playground equipment to climb on, or a school, or a courthouse lawn and raise the question of what these tanks, fighter jets, and artillery pieces say about our culture.
