Lady Liberty
I can’t think of a more ubiquitous symbol of America than the Statue of Liberty. She has had many meanings in the course of her history. She’s everywhere: in parks, in front of or on top of businesses, in people’s yards, and in the early 1950s, through their Strengthen the Arm of Liberty program, the Boy Scouts placed more than two hundred Liberty replicas in more than 75% of the U.S. states, many located on courthouse lawns, or in front of other public buildings.
